Rights and obligations:

Brault & Martineau uses personal information for administrative purposes and solely to meet its client’s needs. At no time will this information be provided to a third party.

After making a purchase, a purchase order is remitted to clients. Brault & Martineau reserves the right to accept or refuse any order.

The client acknowledges having received a copy of the purchase order and recognizes that Brault & Martineau does not offer instalment or forward sales, with loss of benefit at term. Brault & Martineau offers only cash sales. Clients are responsible for obtaining financing directly from specialized firms.

Clients are responsible for reading the instruction manuals and familiarizing themselves with the manufacturer’s warranty before using their purchase.

Clients are responsible for carefully verifying their first statement of account received from the financing firm to make sure that everything matches.

Conditions of purchase:

Expected delivery date:

Brault & Martineau will do its best to deliver your purchase on the date confirmed with you. However, unforeseen events could arise such as: difficult climatic conditions, late deliveries from suppliers, mechanical problems, etc. Therefore, Brault & Martineau will not be held responsible for not respecting the expected delivery date.

Balance due at delivery:

In the case of a difference between the balance due on your purchase order and the balance due on your delivery slip, the balance due on the latter will be considered as the amount owing*.

*Certain conditions could modify the balance due at delivery.

The client acknowledges that the goods ordered match the description provided in this order and in any catalogue, flyer or other advertising medium with respect to said goods.

If the order is approved, the purchaser shall be required to pay any balance due at delivery of the merchandise sold, by certified check or in cash. No delivery shall be made unless payment is made either before or at the time of delivery.

When merchandise purchased constitutes a special order from manufacturer, the client shall be required to provide a 20% non-reimbursable deposit and special orders cannot be cancelled.

Brault & Martineau is dependent on manufacturer’s supplies and can therefore not be held responsible for late deliveries.

Payment of merchandise:

The balance due at delivery must be paid in cash, by certified check or money order.

If the client pays off several orders with a certified check, he must hand his/her check to the head deliverer

Fees may be charged to the client if an adult is not present at the address provided or if he/she is unable to pay the full balance due at delivery.

The client may settle his/her financing account in one of our stores in cash, by personal check or debit card.

Delivery of merchandise:

The seller shall not be held responsible for late deliveries of orders and the client hereby acknowledges that late deliveries cannot be blamed on anything other than the manufacturer’s negligence.

The delivery date shall depend on the availability of the merchandise and the delivery address.

The client is responsible for verifying that his/her doorways, stairways and storage areas are large enough to enable the delivery personnel to easily deliver and place the ordered merchandise.

The client is responsible for ensuring that his/her entrance is clear and accessible at delivery.

The client is responsible for handing the certified check or cash to the deliverer before the truck is unloaded.

The signature of a person of major age (18+ years) is required at delivery.

To help us avoid damaging his/her property, we recommend the client protect his/her floors and carpets.

For safety reasons, our deliverers are not authorized to remove their footwear.

If necessary, the only doors that our deliverers are authorized to remove are those equipped with pivot hinges.

Our deliverers will remove the merchandise from its packaging, except for items that are to be assembled by the client.

Our deliverers are not authorized to install, connect or move furniture or appliances.

At all times, the client is required to place a used mattress in the cover provided to this effect at the time of purchase to enable the deliverers to carry it.

If we are required to remove the client’s old appliances, they must be disconnected and retracted from the spaces where they are used.

If difficulties arise at delivery, our deliverers shall notify the client of such and ask him / her to sign a liability release form or return to the store to choose other items.

Brault & Martineau shall not be held responsible for personal effects that remain in the merchandise picked up by its deliverers.

Useful information on certain merchandise:

All household appliances are tested at the plant and there is a possibility that water remains in the pumps.

In the case of certain washing machines, the client shall be required to unlock the drum prior to its first use by following the procedure described in the instruction manual.

The client is responsible for levelling appliances or furniture prior to using them for the first time.

The client must wait at least six hours before plugging in any household appliance or television.

It is normal that the seats of furniture purchased from our stores lose some firmness during the first months of use because the foam loses a certain percentage of its elasticity.

Certain fabrics such as microfiber, velvet and suede may give off different coloured reflections depending on the angle of the fibres.

Certain fabrics may pill and create a raised effect. To remove the pilling, we recommend a tool specially designed for this purpose.

Furniture will be altered if directly exposed to sunlight or placed near a source of heat or in a room where the humidity level is too high or too low.

Insect bites, scars and discoloration may appear on leather. This is perfectly normal seeing as this material comes from animal skin.

Wood is a natural resource and may present irregularities or grains and may have been intentionally marked to produce a given effect. The resulting finish or colour shall vary according to the species used or the sought after effect.

Other services (additional cost):

Brault & Martineau offers its clients several additional services such as woodworking, upholstering, assembly and cleaning. Clients must contact the service counter of the store where they made their purchase.

We offer an installation service of bedroom sets, electrical beds, bed bases, kitchen sets, living-room sets, television bases, wall units and audio / video equipment. We may also invert the doors or connect appliances purchased from our stores. Clients must contact the service counter of the store where they made their purchase.

Also, we work with several authorized service centres for electronics and household appliances. Clients must contact the service counter of the store where they made their purchase to obtain the contact information for their region’s service centre.

Warranty:

All merchandise is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Clients who experience problems or have questions regarding the items they purchased must contact the after-delivery service department at 514-881-4079 or 1-877-881-4050.

To validate the mattress manufacturer’s warranty, certain models must be installed on a base with a centre leg and the client must purchase and install a mattress cover. Subject to certain conditions, Brault & Martineau offers a comfort guarantee.
